You hear a roar in the distance and know what’s coming...
A classic - no, THE movie about dinosaurs: Welcome to Jurassic Park! The first and arguably best movie of the hit franchise based on Michael Crichton’s eponymous novel, directed by legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg.
Come and visit Isla Nublar where John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) plans to open his prehistoric theme park with live dinosaurs, brought back from extinction by modern science (and a bit of blood from a mosquito preserved in amber). There is just one catch: due to safety concerns about, well … everything, paleontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill), paleobotanist Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and chaos theorist Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) have been invited to the island to certify that all is in order. But can this really ever be the case in an environment where million-year-old murder machines roam freely? Or is there something even more dangerous - something all too human - going on behind the scenes?
With nothing short of three Oscars and to this day impressive visuals, this movie is regarded a masterpiece within the industry worth watching to this day. (JK)
